Conceito do projeto
“pele da minha pele”
É uma reflexão sobre a minha relação
com o mármore na minha pratica artística, da forma como e se
apropriou do meu organismo, da mente, e me transformou, mutilou e
me aprisiona. Com o passar dos anos a minha pele confunde-se com a
sua epiderme criando uma nova fronteira tao efémera como a minha. A
pedra representa-se e confunde-se na sua fragilidade com a condição
humana. Com o tempo a epiderme cristaliza-se na minha, e
entranha-se criando novos limites e fronteiras difíceis de
ultrapassar.
No inicio é sempre a matéria, depois
uma lenta e paciente luta com o limite do material. Por vezes a
ansiedade leva ao erro. A materialidade é também essência, o objeto
é conceito. A pele é a fronteira do corpo no espaço e no tempo, Mas
também é um muro que nos separa do universo, onde a memória é como
o pó do mármore, leve de uma leveza insustentável.
This installation
is nothing more than a reflection about my intimate relation with
the marble in my artistic practice, and how it takes control of my
organism and mind while is capable of transforming me in a way that
mutation and incarceration are a reality.
With the flow of
time my own skin often confuses itself with its epidermis creating
a barrier so ephemeral as mine.
The stone
represents and often mistakes itself in its fragility with the
human condition. Once again time goes by and its epidermis
crystalizes and grafts to my skin creating new limits
and
frontiers
difficult to overcome.
In the beginning
its always the mater, afterwards, a slow and patient struggle with
the limits of it. Sometimes anxiety leads to mistake. The
materiality is also essence, the object a concept.
The skin is the
edge of the body in space and time but also a wall that separates
us from the Universe. Where memory is like marble dust. Light from
an untenable lightness.

Com “Histórias da minha pele” dou
continuidade ao projeto “pele da minha pele”.
Cada intervenção escultórica, é um
fragmento de memória ligada física e espiritualmente com a
anterior. Fragmentos no tempo de uma experiencia interior
materializadas no mármore (eu pele), não como necessidade de
perpetuar (per petram), mas sim de expor a fragilidade da nossa
condição através da epiderme do material, num fluxo que vive no
ritmo do movimento, na forma e na luz, uma verdadeira linguagem do
sensível. No processo, o frágil e efémero estão presentes, o
material levado ao limite da resistência e tensão cede,
desagrega-se criando um todo processual onde o acidente também é
resultado estético.
Estas narrativas parciais são
articuladas e constituem um caminho que se vai fazendo, como uma
construção progressiva no devir de obra em obra no espaço e tempo
de cada exposição.
With “Stories of my skin” I give continuity to the project “Skin of my Skin”.
Each sculptural intervention is a fragment of memory connected physically and spiritually with its previous ancestor. The fragments in time of a spiritual and interior experience are materialized through the marble (eu-pele). With no need to perpetuate(Per petram), it exposes the fragility of our condition through the epidermis of the material, in a flux that lives through the rhythm of the movement, through the shape and light, a real and truthful language of the sensitive. In the spoken process, the fragile and ephemeral are always present. The material is taken to the limit of its resistance, so much that tension gives in and the material disaggregates. Then it creates a process where the accident contributes to the aesthetic of the work itself.
This partial narratives are articulated and contribute to a self-made path like a progressive construction in the beginning of my works in space and time of each exposition.
