CONCOMITÂNCIAS
Nesta nova exposição na galeria Trema apresento um conjunto de obras cujas composições revelam formas que se interrelacionam de maneiras diferentes.
Estruturas sempre concomitantes, simultâneas, coincidentes, concordantes, inseparáveis, em formatos de obras individuais ou em dipticos de inversos ou opostos, de figuras entrelaçadas, torcidas, entrecruzadas, de ligações fechadas ou abertas e descruzadas... É um repertório de obras em que as formas se unem e se amalgamam numa relação simbiótica, tons contíguos que se potenciam mutuamente, opostos como o preto e o branco que juntos se animam e geometrias que se ligam umas às outras como elos que são necessários para coexistir numa corrente.
As formas geométricas, sempre presentes no meu trabalho artístico, voltam a ser projetadas em polípticos, dípticos e formatos individuais para compor uma exposição sóbria e equilibrada onde pretendo harmonizar estrutura e cor, forma e fundo, figura e espaço. Uma prática artística que desde os meus primórdios me identifica como um artista amante da moderação e da equidade, um incansável buscador da moderação e da beleza.
Desta vez, opto por confrontar no mesmo espaço estruturas ortogonais e formas redondas, grandes e pequenos formatos, preto e branco, amarelo e azul-violeta. A técnica do papel rasgado e a sua disposição em tiras horizontais, uma sobre a outra, cria superfícies vibrantes de texturas provocadas pela luz e pela sombra.
Abstração geométrica que relembra e homenageia o suprematismo russo na simplificação das formas, na organização e na redução das cores.
CONCOMITANCES
In this new exhibition at the Trema contemprary art, I present a set of works whose compositions reveal forms that interrelate in different ways.
Structures that are always concomitant, simultaneous, coincident, concordant, inseparable, in the form of individual works or in diptychs of inverses or opposites, of intertwined, twisted, criss-crossed figures, of closed or open and uncrossed links... It is a repertoire of works in which shapes come together and amalgamate in a symbiotic relationship, contiguous tones that enhance each other, opposites like black and white that together animate each other and geometries that connect to each other like links that are necessary to coexist in a chain.
Geometric shapes, always present in my artistic work, are once again projected onto polyptychs, diptychs and individual formats to make up a sober and balanced exhibition where I aim to harmonize structure and color, shape and background, figure and space. This is an artistic practice that has identified me since my earliest days as an artist who loves moderation and fairness, a tireless seeker of moderation and beauty.
This time, I chose to confront orthogonal structures and round shapes, large and small formats, black and white, yellow and blue-violet in the same space. The technique of torn paper and its arrangement in horizontal strips, one on top of the other, creates vibrant surfaces of textures caused by light and shadow.
Geometric abstraction that recalls and pays homage to Russian Suprematism in the simplification of shapes, organization and reduction of colors.
